Learning to Paint a Galaxy or Universe

A few weeks ago I suddenly got a big nudge from inner voice, and the desire to learn how to paint a watercolor galaxy, complete with starry skies and mesmerizing colors took hold of me!

I watched a few demonstrations and was off to the races, trying my hand at many, many different types of galaxy paintings. After feeling happy with what was coming through me, it was time to create a tutorial of my own!

Below you’ll find a video with step by step instructions for painting two different types of watercolor galaxies. Should you want even more painting videos, head on over to my YouTube channel.

You’ll need a round watercolor brush, watercolor paper or a watercolor journal, and several colors of paint for this tutorial. When I paint a watercolor galaxy, I like to have plenty of yellows and greens along with some darker colors, like deep blues or dark reds and purples. You’ll also want some sort of white paint and a toothbrush for making the stars.

Enjoy!
